Academic Counselling
ACADEMIC COUNSELLING
Set your goals and we’ll help you realise them
Getting impartial information and guidance to make your choices
We deliver presentations and produce resources and also offer one-to-one advising

In the Academic Counselling department we truly believe that each student is unique and can only reach his/her potential through a personalised programme of study that reflects his/her strengths. To achieve this, we make our selves readily available to the students and parents.

An appointment can be requested with one of the academic counsellors by any student or parent at any time. However, we also have a number of pre-scheduled events in place, at key stages of a student’s academic career.

CONTINUOUS ADVISING

In Year 2, we help students select a language.

In Year 3, we help students select GCSE options.

Currently, all students take 10.5 GCSEs, where 5 are optional subjects. A presentation is made to students in the morning, followed by two afternoon presentations to parents, run in Greek and English. We also produce the Curriculum and Options booklet, in collaboration with the Academic Faculties. These presentations are followed by an extensive period of one-to-one appointments, were parents are often present. The time set aside for year 3 is mid-January to end of February. In addition, we help co-organise the Annual Education Fair with the Student Brotherhood Council, where students get student-to-student advice and are able to see textbooks and notebooks of students currently studying that particular subject.

In Year 5, we help students select A-Level options.

Currently, all students take 4.5 A-Levels, where 4 are optional subjects. A presentation is made to students in the morning, followed by two afternoon presentations to parents, run in Greek and English. We also produce the Curriculum and Options booklet, in collaboration with the Academic Faculties. These presentations are followed by an extensive period of one-to-one appointments, were parents are often present. The time set aside for year 5 is end of February to end of March. In addition, we help co-organise the Annual Education Fair with the Student Brotherhood Council, where students get student-to-student advice and are able to see textbooks and notebooks of students currently studying that particular subject.

Finally, in Year 6, we help students make the final adjustments to their curriculum, and prepare for University applications, which take place in year 7.

Another excellent resource that we use extensively is the Informed Choices booklet, prepared by the prestigious Russell Group Universities.

SUBJECTS OFFERED

We offer is the widest selection of subjects of any private school on the island. We are very proud of offering a non-restrictive curriculum that can be calibrated to suit each student’s needs. They can choose from the arts, the sciences, the humanities with absolutely no restrictions. This means that our programme of study can be calibrated to suit each student’s needs and strengths, leading to better results, and the realisation of their potential.
